"Breaking Free" is a composition best consumed alone in a dark room or with headphones on and eyes closed. It's a 10-minute deep dive into the outer perimeter of my consciousness.

The Story:
Last year around the holidays, I tried to make family members happy by allowing regular cable television in the house. (Something my wife and I avoid like the plague). I was caught between football blasting in one room and the nightly news and irritating TV commercials blowing out speakers in the other. The keepers of the remotes were obviously competing to see whose volume could crack my sanity first. (I might add that a healthy dose of alcohol and a family member battling a mental disability definitely played a critical role in the chaos.)

Well, I made it through the evening and the following day I fired up the studio to capture that moment (and the moments after our guests finally departed).

This is one of those tracks you do just to do & not try to fit into any specific genre. I hope that you enjoy and find some pleasant surprises along this epic 10-minute journey.

**Television is in my opinion the root of our sorrows. The global community as a whole has adopted cultlike worship of the TV and of the personalities that appear on its sordid channels. I am bewildered & embarrassed to live among so many who are so deceived - yet play along in this cacophony of lies, half-truths, smoke & mirrors.
